The Status of
Clean-technologies

The Alberta Council of Technologies and the Alberta Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council co-hosted the conduct of a clean technologies symposium in Edmonton and Calgary in early March 2010.  Participants included 11 moderators and 60 panelists, 350 clean-tech interests including 75 students from post secondary institutions across Alberta.

The proceedings of the symposium reflect that the Alberta market is showing a newfound respect for the environment.  The emerging clean-tech industry is diverse and is facing many challenges from marketing to public education including financing, stan-dards and monitoring, and establishing policy that will promote and not hinder these technologies.
