Cliff Soper is a Municipal Councillor with Lacombe County and received his B.Sc. Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick and his Ph.D. Chemistry at the University of Alberta. He is presently Chairman of the Municipal Planning Commission and has served several terms as the Chair of the County’s Assessment Review Board. He has been a County Councillor since 2001 and an integral team player in many community projects. An industrial chemist with a background in the pulp and paper and the aluminum smelting industry prior to serving in many capacities at Red Deer College, Mr. Soper is President of CSMediaLabs Inc. a private corporation. He was a member and past President of the Rotary Club, founding President of the Blackfalds Agriculture Society and is presently the Cahirman of the Board of the Ellis Bird Farm, a non-profit nature conservation corporation.


Mr. Soper is also a member of the Campus Alberta Quality Council, a quality assurance council of Alberta Advanced Education and Technology He has had extensive involvement in political processes with the gift of being culturally knowledgeable and able to speak and write in French, English and German.
